ABOUT

Skyline Veterinary

“I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source.”

MEET

Dr. Jennifer Magill

Dr. Jennifer Magill brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, training, and compassionate understanding to the practice of veterinary medicine. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Florida State University and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. After receiving her D.V.M. degree in 2000, she returned to Virginia to practice veterinary medicine, first in Northern Virginia, and since 2006 in central Virginia.

Dr. Magill is currently the only veterinarian in central Virginia to be fully trained and certified in animal hospice and palliative care by the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative care (IAAHPC). What is Animal Hospice? - IAAHPC. This certification required 1.5 years of advanced training specific to geriatric conditions, pain management as well as peaceful techniques for euthanasia within a home setting.

After practicing in a traditional veterinary hospital environment for nearly twenty years, Dr. Magill observed the need for personalized in-home pet care. The personal time for clients and pets, as well as the individual care of animals in the comfort of their own homes can be a less stressful experience for both. Skyline Veterinary House Calls was created with the intent of providing exceptional medical and professional services when in-home care is desired.

A native to the region, Dr. Magill is deeply committed to its people and their animal companions. Her work is dedicated to helping humans and animals achieve happy and fulfilling lives together through education and the thoughtful practice of veterinary medicine. Dr. Magill lives in Crozet with her family, two Border Collies, three cats, a multitude of fish and a Quarter Horse named Woody.
